Princess in Love

Princess in Love is the sequel to Pricess in the Spotlight. I have only read one chapter of it so far, and I already love it just as much as the first one! The first chapter is Mia writing in her journal about what she did on Thanksgiving. She is so descriptive and gives every piece of information. In Princess in the Spotlight Mia's mom got married to Mr. Gianini. Her mom is three months pregnant. I love how this book starts right where the last one eneded. It all makes sense, unlike some books that have a sequel that starts a whole different way. Mia's life is still very interesting and exciting. She hasn't moved to Genovia, but she will soon. Her grandmother is making her take princess lessons, and she hates it! I am excited to read on and I highly recommend this series! The series is by Meg Cabot. I think she is an amzingwiter, so descriptive! When I read her books I can see a perfect image in my head! If you like books like this, I totally think you should read it!

Princess in the Spotlight

Princess in the Spotlight is about a teenage girl who just found out she was the future princess of a country called Genovia. There is a movie based off of this book, called Princess Diaries. The movie makes it seem a little cheesy, but the book is actually really good. I got this book from Ms. Tabor's classroom bookshelf. I just started it and I am already attached! In this book the future princess, Mia, has a lot of crazy things happening to her. She has to get ready to be a princess, by spending a lot of time with her grandmother, the queen. Her mom is dating her algebra teacher, and to top it off, she just found out that her mom is pregnant. Mia has a lot to prepare for, and I am so excited to read on! This book is written in first person, like Mia is writing a journal about herself. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a funny story with a twist!!!

The Silver Crown, by Robert C O'Brien

I just started a book called The Silver Crown. It is about a girl named Ellen whose family died in a fire one day, her birthday. She decided she would live with her aunt in Kentucky. But she was in New York. She decided to hitch hike. Ellen rode with a man that was also going to Kentucky. He kept on saying strange things about the crown that she had. She found it on her pillow the morning her family died. But she wasn't in the house during the fire, and she still had the crown. It was all she had left. When the man started talking about the crown, she knew that something was up. She hadn't even mentioned the crown. Ellen knew that the crown meant something, it was a sign that she was in trouble, being followed, or wanted by some one. She immediately jumped out of his car and ran off into the woods. That is how far I have come, and it already sounds like it will be a great book. I highly recommend it. It is very descriptive and well written. I am already attached to it.

Catching Fire

Catching Fire is the sequel to the Hunger Games. The Hunger games is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen who had to go in a huge arena and fight 23 other kids to the death. There are 12 districts, each one has to send 2 kids to the Hunger Games. A girl and a boy. Katniss and a boy named Peeta were sent to the Hunger Games. They both won, and since they are in the same district, they didn’t kill each other. Catching Fire is all about what they do after the games. They have to pretend that they are in love with each other or they will be in huge trouble with the President. They were supposd to fight to the death, but they refused to fight each other because they had become friends. They have to pretend that they are in love, so that is their excuse for not killing each other.

Katniss is preparing for the victors’ parade that she will take through all of the districts with Peeta. On the parade, Katniss has to really show the other disticts that she and Peeta are in love. Unfortunately, Peeta has turned her back on her. He doesn’t know that they still have to pretend to be in love or they will be killed. He is not the one who got a threat from the President saying that if they are not “in love” they will be killed, she is. Katniss is not allowed to go to anyone for help, because the President doesn’t want anyone knowing the truth. Katniss has to save her self and her families lives without being killed.
